A little information…
On the shores of Lake Erie, Shades Beach is located at 7000 E. Lake Road.
There are trails, woodlands, play areas, picnic grounds, a beach area, and boat launch. Featuring two complete organized picnic facilities; each with a complete kitchen and restrooms, and shared playground and horseshoe courts.
Shades Beach Live Streams. Your Window to Lake Erie! This service provides a real-time view of our scenic shoreline while helping boaters and beachgoers monitor current lake conditions.

Krupinski Launch Facility
On August 5th, 2013, Harborcreek Township dedicated its Shades Beach Launch Facility to Lt. Raymond J. Krupinski a 1966 Harbor Creek graduate.
His platoon was hit hard by North Vietnamese soldiers. In the process of rescuing one of his men, he laid his life on the line and was killed. The account of Lt. Krupinski’s final acts was told by one of his men serving under him. His “calm courage even in the face of death”, as one of his men called it, was never forgotten by his platoon.
